Uttarakhand Temples

Uttarakhand is one of those states in India that take pride in being known as “Devbhumi”. All four “Dhams”, viz, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yumnotri are located here. Today, Uttarakhand is synonymous to tourism. Apart from world renowned hills stations like Mussouri, Nainital, Auli and religious bastions like Haridwar and Rishikesh, Uttarakhand is peppered with smaller temples that reflect the cultural, religious and rich historical fabric of the state.

Uttarakhand is also the source of rivers like Ganga and Yamuna, which are considered holy and pristine in Hindu mythology and religion. There are plethora of big and small religious places, which are thronged by people not only from the country but from all over the world. Religious tourism is one of the most defining factors and forms the backbone of the overall tourism industry. The state of Uttarakhand is blessed with natural beauty and charm. The environs are pristine and mostly virgin. People come here to seek peace and tranquility.

Unfortunately, in this modern age and fast paced life style, we are losing track of this rich heritage. www.uttarakhandtemples .in has taken an initiative to mitigate this dying cultural heritage. It is a voluntary effort to promote religious tourism in the state. Through this effort, we intend to highlight various small temples that are spread across the state. Our goal is to educate tourists about them so that they can know and experience the religious traditions first hand.

Let us all unite in our efforts to revive and protect the rich cultural traditions that we have inherited from our forefathers.
